3. Barricade Line

The Barricade Line, which is usually called the police line, functions to cover an area and no one can cross it other than authorized officers.
Barricade Line is used according to the color specifications set by OSHA and ANSI. Barricade Line can be used primarily as a safety precaution for various industries and procedures. Barricade lines have several types, including:

  • Tape construction. Used in construction zones to inform people of sustainable development and possible hazards within its boundaries. Construction ribbons usually use a yellow-black color combination and have text on the ribbon, such as “Under Construction”, “Caution”, “Work Zone”, and “Keep Out” (among others). This type of barrier tape is commonly found in minor renovation, demolition, and repair sites.
  • Hazard Tape. Used in locations where there is great danger. Examples include electrical hazards or areas where there is a risk from exposure to toxic chemicals. Hazard ribbons are available in different color combinations, each of which indicates a specific class of hazard. For example, the yellow-black band is used to indicate the presence of physical hazards (for example, holes), while magenta-yellow indicates radiation hazards. This type of barrier tape is commonly used in laboratories, production areas and industrial areas.
  • Traffic Control Equipment. This type of barrier tape, as the name suggests is used to control traffic, be it foot traffic or vehicle traffic. This traffic control device is used as a temporary traffic signal to direct traffic during a parade or whenever a road is closed. These are usually bright in color, either in a solid orange or orange-white combination.
